Last week saw the UK’s Professional Publishers Association (PPA) gala evening, its annual awards night recognizing publishing excellence across 24 categories, and we’re delighted to report that it was a great night for censhare clients!
Bauer Media Group UK, which reaches over 25 million consumers with media properties including Heat, KISS, Grazia, Empire, Motor Cycle News, Parkers, TV Choice and Take a Break. Bauer scooped Best Use of Social Media with its Walk a Thousand Miles, Country Walking campaign. Approaching its 30th year of publication, Country Walking created a campaign to increase sales and inspire audiences. It lay down a challenge to all-comers: walk 1000 miles in a year and feel the incredible benefits walking can bring to your health and happiness - #walk1000miles.
Hearst Magazines UK, publisher of 21 publications including ELLE, Harper’s Bazaar, Cosmopolitan and Good Housekeeping, sells over four million magazines a month and it owned the evening, winning five awards:
- Designer of The Year (Consumer Media), Tom Meredith, ELLE UK
- Writer of The Year (Consumer Media), Roisín Dervish-O’Kane, Women’s Health
- Editor of The Year (Consumer Media), Farrah Storr, Cosmopolitan
- Specialist Consumer Magazine of The Year, Country Living
- Consumer Magazine of The Year, Women’s Health
Finally, Slimming World, one of our newest clients scooped the Customer Magazine of The Year. This was particularly joyful for censhare as VP GLobal Marketing, Ian Truscott, happened to be sitting next to its Group Publishing Systems Manager, James Naylor (check out his previous interview with him on Inside censhare).
The evening really showcased this industry and some great award categories which focused on the innovative use of things like social media to engage the consumer and keep publishing relevant. A fantastic evening for everyone, congratulations!
