ESA, the leading purchasing organization of the Swiss automobile and motor vehicle industry, is cooperatively owned by its actual customers – meaning a total of some 7,000 co-owners.

In this highly competitive market, ESA is able to draw on 90 years of experience and extensive knowledge regarding product and service requirements, which is embodied in the form of over 500,000 product data of various consumer goods. And it is exactly this information that must be optimized for its successful use in an increasingly digitalized environment.

Its previous Product Information System (PIM) was both outdated and cumbersome. So ESA implemented censhare as a replacement which could meet the requirements of fundamental market shifts, using it as a central and universal content management system , and a crucial part of its infrastructure.

Requirements for the censhare implementation were developed in various workshops, with future users actively participating in discussing their respective needs and user stories. This early involvement ensured internal user buy in of the solution - definitely a decisive factor for a successful and fruitful implementation.

The project was then implemented in an agile manner, and the outcome was a system which met all of ESA’s demands. These include the central structuring of data, the enrichment of product data with connected content and information, process automation, and standardized interfaces.
