Natmag benefits from censhare

In its June edition, the UK’s leading trade magazine for the publishing sector, “PrintMedia Management“, reported on the successful introduction of censhare at Natmag. The National Magazine Company, founded in 1910 by William Randolph Hearst, is one of the largest British magazine publishing houses and is still part of the international Hearst Corporation today. Natmag produces more than 20 publications, which includes, “Good Housekeeping“, “Cosmopolitan“, “Harper´s Bazaar“ as well as the online sites, www.handbag.com and www.netdoctor.co.uk. Through these publications, Natmag reaches 14 million readers annually and records more than 50 million page clicks a month.

Since 2006, the British publishing company had searched for an appropriate information and publishing system with a combination that had not been available on the market to date. The targets to be attained were clearly defined. The new system should enable Natmag to manage all media assets as well as map and control the entire range of publication and production processes.

Sean Briggs, Natmag’s Publishing Manager along with his colleagues, examined a number of solutions, none of which were able to meet their stringent demands. Their first encounter with censhare was at a reference visit to the car maker, BMW, in Munich, where, since 2004, all international sales brochures have been produced using censhare.

“The sophistication of the workflow caught our eye,“ as Sean Briggs recalls. “censhare is the hub now. That’s how we always saw it, but it was only when we started lifting the hood that we realised it was a workflow system, not just a publishing system.”
