Inside censhare: How Did We Make DMEXCO

It doesn’t quite take a village, as the old expression goes, to build a stand for DMEXCO, but it certainly needs a lot of help, especially when you are trying to be just a little bit different from the normal shiny corporate boxes you typically see at these events.

It doesn’t quite take a village, as the old expression goes, to build a stand for DMEXCO, but it certainly needs a lot of help, especially when you are trying to be just a little bit different from the normal shiny corporate boxes you typically see at these events and it’s your first time.

So, on this episode of Inside censhare, I wanted to shine a light on the people outside of my team who helped us make it real and say thank you.

In this video I talk to Sarah Trumble, Director and Founder of Circus Brand Experience, who was the ring leader of the whole project. Her small team provided all of the project management, onsite logistics and co-ordination which we needed, working in German of course.

As Sarah shares, the concept of the stand, the design, 3D renderings and all of the artwork was led by Andrew Day and Dan Douglass from Douglass/Day. A creative duo, formerly of McCann, who were fabulous to work with and really helped us to push this concept into the thing that got everyone at the show so excited. (We were named one of the top ten best stands on a stand building blog and a mention in The Drum).

Finally, Helix 3D provided technical drawings and constructed the physical build of the stand, building it in London and then in Cologne, an amazing group of guys who built a two story 150m2 house in less than 2 days – which took an awful lot of tea. It was a project that the local stand builders had never seen before and they got a lot of praise from their industry peers.

It was an absolute pleasure to work with Sarah, as I hope you can see in the video. If you want to know more about what it takes to build something like this, I would be happy to share our experience – email us.

There is still plenty of video to share from DMEXCO, I had a great chat to a couple of our partners, as you will see over the next couple of weeks.

In the meantime, enjoy the video!
