censhare US, Inc. is pleased to announce that it has been certified under the EU-U.S. and Swiss-U.S. Privacy Shield Program and will adhere to EU laws and rules across its US subsidiaries and the same adequate technical and organizational standards for protecting personal data as it does in Europe, giving clients and partners confidence in working with censhare as they prepare for GDPR.

Today, there is a strong focus on privacy legislation and compliance. With huge fines being considered for those who don’t comply, companies are rightfully becoming circumspect about their partners and vendors.

The EU-U.S. and Swiss-U.S. Privacy Shield Frameworks were designed by the U.S. Department of Commerce, the European Commission, and Swiss Administration respectively, to provide companies on both sides of the Atlantic with a mechanism to comply with data protection requirements when transferring personal data from the European Union and Switzerland to the United States in support of transatlantic commerce.

Regardless of legislation, censhare has always taken this topic very seriously and invested in ensuring that it meets each stringent requirement as it is defined, appointing long time privacy advocate, Manuel Weiss, Director Global Operations as the data protection officer at censhare AG.

“I’m delighted to have this certification for the company”, Weiss commented. “While I love all the benefits the internet has brought us, this debate about privacy is the next wave of the development of the internet and our relationship with it as consumers.”

“For me, this is an essential initiative”, added Dieter Reichert, CEO and co-founder of censhare. “As information and the internet will become increasing pervasive in our lives, it is our responsibility as a vendor to take a leadership position in this area.”

Details of censhare’s compliance can be found on the Privacy Shield website.
