Next up in our mini series of Inside censhare, filmed at ecosphere days 2018, I grab one of our client speakers Marianne Gram, Publishing Director from Egmont, to chat about her presentation and experience of working with censhare.

We start with a topic that comes up regularly in case studies with clients: quality. The need to do more, be more efficient and yet maintain the quality of the publication are all essential for publishers such as Egmont.

But, as Marianne shares, this can only be achieved with automation and I really enjoyed her honesty in revealing the business users’ fears as their organization implemented a new editorial system and started automating some of the old processes. They would worry about maintaining the quality and whether anything would be lost in the process.

We got a glimpse of the old process through Marianne’s presentation as she shared the panic and crunch of a publication release, and of people working into the night to meet the deadline. But not anymore, as the new system and proces has normalized this working pattern - there are no complaints from the users and quality has improved.

One topic that we touch on is close to my heart, as I almost enter my twentieth year working with content management solutions, is transitioning users from Word and I was delighted with the Marianne’s success in doing this.

Another adjustment for the users that we discuss was moving to a semantic database, with content connected by relationships rather than stuffed into an endless array of folders and the fear that stuff would become lost in the system.

It was also great to learn that she enjoyed ecosphere days and even made a special mention of James Naylor from Slimming World and his presentation. We have an excellent community and bringing these guys together is what our event is all about.

I hope you enjoy the video, I certainly enjoyed chatting to Marianne.
