censhare Product Life Cycle
The censhare system reflects our vision of communication and publishing in the 21st century. Therefore goes without saying that we constantly develop and improve our product. Our specialized software development team in Munich warrants you to always have state of the art communication technology at your hand when using censhare. Still, every final censhare release can be regarded as a future-proof production platform, and so it is part of our product philosophy to provide best in class long term support to our customers who are using previous censhare versions.
Product Release Cycle
censhare major and minor versions follow a distinct release cycle. This not only provides planning reliability when it comes to updates and availability of new functionality, but also allows us for a coherent and stringent product development.
- Major releases (first digit of the version number) are published every 2 years, and contain improvements and conceptual designs of the underlying technologies of the censhare platform
- Minor releases (second digit of the version number) appear on a regular schedule 3 times a year (omitting the last minor release before an upcoming major release) and are intended to provide new functionality
- Revision releases (third digit of the version number) are release as required, solely serve for bug fixes, and do not contain any new functionality
End of Life / End of Service
With the release of new major or minor releases, all previous versions reach their End of Life (EOL). Still, we do provide the best of breed planning and investment reliability by providing full support and bug fixes for full 3 years for previous versions until they reach their End of Service (EOS). Of course, we support our customers with the planning of and migration to newer versions of censhare.
- With the release of new major or minor releases, no new functionality is added to previous versions, the reach their End of Life (EOL)
- Previous major releases are still supported and receive bug fixes for 3 years after their End of Life (EOL), when they will have reached their End of Service (EOS)
