Java developer (m/f)

You will

• work on a system for content production and the management of print, online and other media such as the iPad
• be involved with complex structures for the mapping and imaging of information and semantic networks
• conceive, create and implement key platform functions starting with server components, all the way through to details of the user interface
• Tcontribute to the further development of the platform architecture - instead of relying on "me-too" solutions based on JEE and Open Source components, we perform our own development work (application server, persistence layer, database engine, search engine)
• be a valued colleague in a creative, competent and technically evolving environment with flat hierarchies

The qualifications you bring to our team:

• Completed IT studies (university education) or comparable knowledge levels
• Practical experience and good skills and proficiency in several of the following areas:
• Software development with Java and Java Swing / Java FX / GWT
• Relational databases (preferably Oracle)
• Parallel processes / Multithreading
• Development environments such as Eclipse or InelliJ, tools such as ANT, junit and YourKit
• Client/Server solutions, multi-tier software architecture
• Enthusiasm for semantic network structure, interlinking and integration of information
• A keen intellect, inquisitiveness, as well as the capability to work independently and in a structured manner
• Good German and English language skills
